I am a scientist, musician and broadcaster based in Cape Town, South Africa.
My research activities take place at the University of Cape Town where I am a postdoctoral medicinal chemist at the Drug Discovery and Development Centre (H3D). I am interested in developing molecular strategies, such as treatments and tools, to tackle the scourge of infectious disease. My interdisciplinary research experience spans the fields of chemistry and biochemistry. I am also passionate about promoting science and improving scientific literacy in South Africa.
My musical interests lie in keyboard, choral, orchestral and chamber music. I direct my own ensemble, VOX Cape Town, and regularly present classical music programmes on Fine Music Radio. These include the live broadcasts of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra’s symphony concerts, for which I also share the pre-concert talks.
